Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist First Assistant for our St Josephs North location in Lutz, FL. The role is full-time, exempt: No, with a start time around 6:30am to 5:00pm and occasional weekend work.

On-call duties apply, and the team collaborates closely to support safe, efficient operations. Requirements include at least 3 years as a Surgical Tech or 2 years as an SA in the main OR, a high school diploma, and BLS certification from AHA or ARC.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Surgical Tech OR 2-years Surgical Technologist First Assistant with main OR experience.
• High School or Equivalent.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Position Description: Surgical Technologist First Assistant

• As defined by the American College of Surgeons, Surgical Assistants (SAs) are trained individuals who are able to participate in, and actively assist the surgeon in, completing the operation safely and expeditiously by helping to provide exposure, maintain homeostasis, and other technical functions

Position Details:

Location: St Josephs North

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 5:00pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Surgical Tech OR 2-years Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Main OR experience.
• High School or Equivalent
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
