Job summary

BayCare Health System in St. Josephs North, St. Pauls, NC, seeks a Surgical Technologist First Assistant to assist the surgeon in the operating room, help with exposure, and maintain homeostasis during procedures.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years as a Surgical Tech or 2 years as a First Assistant in the Main OR, plus a High School diploma and BLS certification. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as Surgical Tech or 2 years as Surgical Technologist First Assistant with Main OR experience.
• High School or equivalent education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Position Description: Surgical Technologist First Assistant

• As defined by the American College of Surgeons, Surgical Assistants (SAs) are trained individuals who are able to participate in, and actively assist the surgeon in, completing the operation safely and expeditiously by helping to provide exposure, maintain homeostasis, and other technical functions

Position Details

Location: St Josephs North

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 5:00pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Surgical Tech OR 2-years Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Main OR experience.
• High School or Equivalent
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
