Job Summary and Qualifications

The OR Scrub Tech/Surgical Technologist Extern PRN collaborates with the SPD and Surgical Services team, following protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, preparing, sterilizing, and storing surgical supplies and equipment. You will distribute supplies within the facility and manage inventory, receive, and restock materials.

• Prepare and distribute surgical case carts based on physician preferences and perioperative needs.
• Monitor, interpret, and document sterilizer indicator results.
• Assist OR staff in obtaining instruments and equipment.
• Prioritize processing of instrument sets based on schedule changes.
• Help locate instrumentation and complete instrument sets as needed.
• Assist in patient positioning per protocol.
• Set up and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Work closely with OR staff to ensure rapid room turnover.

Qualifications needed:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology Program (required).
• Preferred: 1+ year healthcare experience.
