What you will do in this role:
The role of the Surgical Technician is to assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment, and supplies. The Surgical Technician in Surgery provides care for adolescent patients (12-17 years), adult patients (18-64 years), and geriatric patients (65 years and older). The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgery, understanding the procedure and anticipating the needs of the surgeon. The Surgical Technician ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintains the sterile field. In the second scrub role, they assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operation by carrying out tasks such as sponging, suctioning, cutting sutures, holding retractors, and manipulating the endoscopic camera.
