Advocate Health’s 09120 Chicago Webster & Clybourn Surgery Center - General Administration is seeking a Surgical Technologist for PRN, part-time coverage in Chicago. The role focuses on surgical scrub duties, sterile field preparation, and assisting physicians during procedures, with on-call availability and no weekends or holidays.

The position requires a surgical technologist program graduate or at least 2 years of surgical scrub experience, CPR certification, and completion of CST

Qualifications

• Graduate of surgical technologist program OR 2 years of surgical scrub experience.
• CPR certified.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification will be obtained by the employee by sitting for the certification exam within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Completely prepares sterile field in a timely manner; maintains the sterile field and boundaries prior to and during procedure.
• Assists the physician by sponging, suctioning, retracting, and cutting suture as required and instructed by the physician.
• Acts as preceptor, sharing knowledge in a supportive/educational manner.
• Maintains on-call availability.
• Assists in emergency situations as assigned, demonstrating appropriate actions and prioritizing to meet patient's condition.
