Advocate Lutheran General Hospital - Day Surgery Center in Illinois is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join a hospital-based Ambulatory Surgery Center team. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with rotating weekday call and on-call requirements.

Requires graduation from a surgical technologist program and CST certification within 3 months. CPR certification is required; duties include sterile field preparation, assisting physicians, precepting, and maintaining patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist to be obtained within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Scrub role duties as assigned and prep sterile field.
• Maintain sterile field and boundaries during procedures.
• Assist physician with sponging, suctioning, retracting, and suturing as required.
• Act as preceptor and share knowledge with the team.
• Maintain on-call availability and respond to emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety standards and hospital policies.
• Prepare instruments and supplies and manage turnover after cases.
• Verify instrument availability and assist with opening sterile supplies.
• Support a cooperative work environment with the health care team.
