Riley Children's Health's Riley Hospital Labor and Delivery unit is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time day shift. The role supports pre-, intra-, and post-operative activities, ensuring proper setup of the sterile field and assisting the surgeon as allowed by policy.

The position requires NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist within four months, BLS, and ongoing CEUs; teamwork with OR staff is essential, and on-call shifts are not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) within four months of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to resource advanced surgical technology.
• 15 CEUs annually as required by state law.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures to anticipate surgeon needs.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Strict adherence to sterile field policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange surgical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation before procedures.
• Assist the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by policy.
• Support OR turnover and processing of specimens, equipment, and supplies after procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RNs, and other surgical staff to ensure patient safety.
