Job summary

Indiana University Health - Riley Hospital Labor and Delivery is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join a leader in innovative fetal surgeries and a collaborative OR team. This full-time, day-shift position supports the surgical team before, during, and after procedures, ensuring proper equipment, supplies and turnover.

You will work with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses in a high-standard operating room environment, with an emphasis on maintaining sterile technique and rapid case

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
NBSTSA certification within four months of employment.
Basic Life Support certification required.
Ability to resource advanced technology.
15 continuing education units annually as required by state law.
Knowledge of surgical procedures to anticipate surgeon needs.
Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
Strict adherence to sterile field policies.

Responsibilities

Ensure proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies in the OR.
Assist the surgeon in the operating room as allowed.
Support OR turnover and processing of specimens, equipment and supplies.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RNs and other staff.
