Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT certification is required.
• Annual 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice in NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer before direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Perform scrub duties across varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensure necessary sterile supplies and equipment are available for the surgeon and procedure.
• Assist with circulating duties under the RN circulator's supervision.
• Adhere to hospital, state, and departmental policies.
