Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a certified surgical technologist to join the operating room team. You will prepare sterile fields, pass instruments, and support the surgeon and team during procedures to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, assisting with patient positioning, counts, draping, and room prep. Opportunities for certification and growth are available, with flexible day/evening shifts and on-call options.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Handles instruments and equipment during procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Assists with patient placement, draping, and counting sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon and maintains safety and efficiency in the OR.
• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans the OR after procedures.
• Mentors new staff and supports ongoing education and certification goals.
