Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team. You will provide sterile instruments to the surgical team, prepare the field, and coordinate instrument transfers to surgeons and staff.

This role emphasizes patient rights, confidentiality, and safety, aligning with Mercy Service Standards. A High-School Diploma or GED and BLS are required, with English proficiency essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education.
• Licensure: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.
• Experience: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.

Responsibilities

• Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room.
• Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team.
• Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members.
