Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital is hiring a Surgical Technologist I to support surgeons and the operating room team. The role requires preparing the OR, passing instruments, maintaining sterility, and collaborating closely with clinicians to ensure patient safety.

The position is 32 hours per week, with four 8-hour day shifts, onsite in Newton, MA, offering a sign-on bonus for eligible applicants and competitive hourly pay between $33.25 and $40.53.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 0-1 year experience as Surgical Technologist.
• 1-2 years experience preferred.
• BLS Certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• NBSTSA/other credentials may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for procedures.
• Set up sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Transport and position patients for surgery.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team.
• Maintain sterility and instrument counts during procedures.
• Document surgical procedures and counts.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site with drapes and solutions.
• Manage surgical drains and catheters as directed.
