Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures at North Shore Medical Center facilities. The role involves preparing the OR, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting the surgical team to ensure patient safety and smooth operations.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, CST certification, and 1 year of acute care experience preferred. Onsite, 40 hours per week with a rotating shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist is required.
• 1 year experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment required for the surgery.
• Transport patients to the operating room, help with positioning on the surgical table, and ensure their safety and comfort during the procedure.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow proper sterilization techniques to ensure the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of surgical procedures, including counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments used.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site by applying sterile drapes and solutions.
• Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed by the surgeon.
