Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Surgical Technologist I at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts. You will assist surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the operating room.

The role requires 0-1 year of Surgical Technologist experience (1-2 years preferred) and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience: 0-1 year in a Surgical Technologist role; 1-2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment required for the surgery.
• Transport patients to the operating room, help with positioning, and ensure safety and comfort.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow proper sterilization techniques for instrument cleanliness and sterility.
• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, including counts.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site by applying sterile drapes and solutions.
• Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed by the surgeon.
