Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technician 3 to support operating room teams during surgical procedures. You will assist a Registered Nurse, manage instruments, and ensure supplies are ready for cases in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include preparing the surgical area, maintaining instrument tables, performing counts, and coordinating with surgeons and team members to ensure patient safety and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Grad of an Accredited Program.
• 2 Years of Experience.
• BLS: Basic Life Support certification (or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer).
• CST: If trained in military/Public Health Service ST, HS/GED acceptable; otherwise GAP plus current CST (NBSTSA or NCCT) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile field and instrument tables.
• Assist surgeon and RN to ensure efficient operations and patient safety.
• Perform counts of surgical items (sponges, sharps, instruments) according to policy.
• Manage supplies and equipment for the surgical service line.
• Adhere to infection control policies, OSHA guidelines, and regulatory standards.
