Job summary

Carle Health is seeking skilled Surgical Technicians to join the Operating Room team. Various shifts and scheduling options are available, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time and part-time positions. Relocation assistance is offered for moves 50+ miles.

Eligible candidates have an Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology credentials, and BLS certification within 30 days. Independence in scrubbing and knowledge of sterile technique are essential to patient safety.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology program completion.
• Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days (AHA).
• Specialized knowledge: asepsis, sterile technique, perioperative teamwork, anatomy/physiology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile environment and asepsis throughout procedures.
• Organize and coordinate supplies and equipment for efficiency.
• Ensure a safe environment and adherence to hospital policies.
• Handle charges and inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Assist with room turnover and setup for next patient.
• Perform sterilization, disinfection and documentation per policy.
• Scrub duties for Medical Students, Residents, and other students.
• Position patients and assist with equipment as needed.
