Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the Operating Room team, providing support as a first, second, or assisting technician under RN supervision in the intraoperative period.

The role offers full-time and part-time options with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for moves over 50 miles. Education in Surgical Technology and BLS certification are required, with opportunities to advance within a state-of-the-art surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology or related certificate required.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
• Experience in scrub role and aseptic technique.
• Ability to work in perioperative team.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment and applies aseptic technique in procedures.
• Organizes supplies and equipment for efficient department operations.
• Ensures safety and compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
• Chages for equipment and supplies.
• Assists in room turnover and setup for next patient.
• Sterilizes instruments and documents loads per policy.
• Scrubs for Medical Students, Residents and other learners.
