Job summary

Carle Health in Aurora, CO seeks a Surgical Technologist to provide clinical support in the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, set up and tear down rooms, and reprocess endoscopes and instruments between cases.

The role offers multiple shift options (8–, 9–, or 10-hour shifts) and a sign-on/relocation bonus. Candidates should have an associate degree or surgical technology training and certifications including CER and BLS.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, hand/eye coordination and infection control knowledge.
• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology for surgical patient care.
• Applies principles of sterile technique during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Collects data on assigned patients as directed by the RN and unit standards.
• Performs accurate documentation in patient records as directed.
• Maintains clean/sterile environment and separates clean from dirty.
• Assists providers with procedures and treatments.
• Assists in cleaning and sterilization of instruments per policy.
• Cleans and stocks exam and procedure rooms.
• Obtains specimens and transports as per policy.
• Serves as a resource for department equipment.
• Assists with inventory and restocking of supplies.
