Job summary

Physicians Regional – Surgical Services is looking for a Surgical Technician to join the operating room team. The role assists in preparing the sterile field, anticipates instrument needs, and ensures patient safety through proper handling of instruments and supplies.

You will support OR efficiency, maintain infection control, and participate in equipment readiness and room turnover for upcoming cases in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Expertise in surgical techniques, instrumentation and sterile processing.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly during procedures.
• Strong organizational and time management skills for efficient workflow.
• Knowledge of safety, infection control and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the OR with instruments and supplies based on procedure and physician preference.
• Maintains sterile field using aseptic technique throughout surgery.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments accurately.
• Disposes of used materials and performs instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
• Restocks supplies and supports room turnover for next case.
