Job summary

Regional One Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing the operating room and provide intraoperative care under RN supervision. The role includes scrubbing as second/third assistant, maintaining aseptic technique and anticipating surgeon needs.

Responsibilities include preparing the sterile field, checking equipment, assisting with draping, and supporting postoperative cleanup. Requires NBSTSA/NCCT certification and CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA or NCCT is required.
• Program must be accredited by CAAHEP.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
• At least 1 year of OR experience or completion of an ORT program is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the operating room and providing intraoperative care.
• Checks supplies, instrumentation and equipment for procedures and ensures proper function.
• Maintains sterile field and restocks supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Assists in patient preparation, draping and positioning for procedures.
• Scrubs and assists circulators under RN supervision and follows aseptic technique.
• Counts sponges and sharps with RN prior to incision and before closure.
• Prepares sterile dressings and assists with dressing/cast applications.
• Participates in resuscitation procedures and adheres to safety and infection control policies.

Education

Certified Surgical Technologist NBSTSA/NCCT

CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program

Current CPR/BLS certification

1 year OR experience or ORT program completion
