Responsibilities:

1. Assists surgical team in the scrubbing role according to prescribed standards and licensure.
2. Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure.
3. Passes instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to the surgeon.
4. Maintains sterile field and reports immediately any breaks in aseptic technique.
5. Assists with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting instrument.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• CST, CSFA, or OR LVN certification.

Overview:

As our Surgical Tech II at St. Joseph, you will help assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients. You will perform scrub duties and related procedures in accordance with your license, ensuring maintenance of sterile field and supplies/equipment for your specialty. To succeed, you must perform as a preceptor and understand sterile techniques for instruments and surgical situations.
