In this position, you will travel 100% of the time to work on multiple high-profile projects such as transportation, commercial buildings, wind farms, and more in many geographical areas. General Responsibilities:

The Traveling Construction Technician will perform various observations and tests on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, and asphalt. You will communicate with Project Managers, client representatives, contractor's representatives, and other stakeholders regarding testing and inspection results. Tests are performed on building construction projects and further tested in Terracon laboratories. Successful candidates will receive in-depth technical training and professional certifications as they advance.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Travel to and from assigned projects
• Assist with tasks and perform basic sample tests and observations of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, and asphalt under supervision
• Document and prepare testing and observation data using a laptop or tablet; submit findings accurately and communicate results effectively
• Gradually assume increased responsibilities and roles in work assignments
• Ensure testing equipment and tools are calibrated and maintained properly
• Follow safety rules and report safety concerns
• Maintain quality standards and work cohesively as a team
• Transport materials safely using a company vehicle

Requirements:

• 100% travel required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Office
• ACI certification in one or more areas (e.g., Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, Radiation Safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation)
• Completion of safety certifications
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level II in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories
• ICC certifications in various categories
• AWS Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI)
• ASNT Level II in nondestructive testing areas

This position is categorized as "Remote Only," with employees working from home or other locations without a designated office workspace. The salary range is $19.00-$26.75 per hour, with adjustments based on location and experience.
