Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team in the scrubbing role according to prescribed standards and licensure
• Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
• Passes instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to the surgeon
• Maintains sterile field and reports immediately any breaks in aseptic technique
• Assists with retracting tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting instrument placed by the surgeon

You will perform scrub duties and related procedures in accordance with your license, ensuring the maintenance of sterile fields and supplies/equipment for your specialty.

To succeed, you must perform in advanced roles such as preceptor and understand sterile techniques for instruments and surgical situations.
