Job summary

Iredell Health System is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in the operating room under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, ensuring patient care and sterile technique throughout procedures. This role supports anesthesia and surgical teams with instrument handling, room setup, and post-procedure tasks.

The position requires completion of an approved Surgical Technician program, BLS/CPR certification, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved program for Surgical Technicians.
• Thorough knowledge of principles and practice of surgical asepsis.
• BLS (CPR) certification through the American Red Cross and American Heart Association.
• Successful completion of orientation addressing age and population-specific skills for the practice area.
• Must be able to pass basic FIT test and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the RN, is responsible for care and treatment of patients in the operating room and for maintaining sterile technique and safety in the surgical environment.
