Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room by preparing sterile instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and assisting the surgical team throughout invasive procedures. Strong aseptic technique and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities include preparing supplies, performing surgical counts, draping, handling specimens, and ensuring patient safety while supporting the perioperative team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification within 6 months of hire (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred).
• Associates Degree or Vocational Certification in Surgical Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub person for operative procedures; assemble supplies and equipment.
• Prepare and organize sterile supplies and instruments; perform surgical counts.
• Assist with sterile draping and provide instruments to team; maintain aseptic field.
• Retrieve and label specimens; report implants, catheters, drains.
