Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the surgeon and perioperative team in delivering high-quality patient care during procedures.

The role prepares sterile fields, assists with instruments, and ensures compliance with infection prevention standards and facility policies to promote optimal outcomes. You will help with patient positioning, draping, counts, and restocking supplies between cases, while maintaining professionalism in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room and equipment.
• Assist surgical team by passing instruments and supplies.
• Ensure proper sterilization and inspection of instruments.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
• Assist in patient positioning, draping, and transfer methods.
