Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an Instrument Technician - Surgery to manage inter-department instrument needs across OR, Case Carts, and Sterile Processing. You will coordinate daily instrument requests with OR partners and leaders, ensuring proper cleaning, sterilization and inspection of instrumentation.

The role requires competency in Immediate Use Sterilization and Biologic Indicator testing as needed. Excellent communication and organization are essential, with a requirement for a High School

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Excellent communication and prioritization/organization skills.
Basic knowledge reading computer printouts and working from task lists.
Certification in sterile processing at technician level or higher (preferred) with 1 year experience in Sterile Processing Department (preferred).

Responsibilities

The instrument technician-Surgery will coordinate inter-departmental instrument needs between OR, Case Carts, and Sterile Processing.
Coordinate daily instrument needs with OR partners and team leaders.
Clean, sterilize and inspect instrumentation to ensure readiness.
Responsible for Immediate Use Sterilization process and Biologic Indicator testing as needed.
