Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and support operating room procedures. You will train and mentor staff, set up sterile fields, and ensure instruments and supplies are ready for a variety of surgical cases.

The role includes on-call duties and collaboration with RNs to optimize patient care. The position emphasizes teamwork, precision, and patient safety, with opportunities to develop through certification and experience within Carle Health’s

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology.
• Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and suture are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entry.
• Organize back table and mayo for efficient workflow.
• Anticipate case needs and prepare appropriate items.
• Precept and mentor technologists and RNs; scrub on varied procedures.
• Run mayo independently and adapt to surgeon preferences.
• Contribute to intraoperative planning and post-case turnover.
