Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist surgeons and prepare operative rooms, ensuring sterile technique and timely case setup. You will train staff, support diverse procedures, and adapt to surgeon preferences while maintaining patient safety.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology.
• Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Preparation for surgeon specific operative/invasive procedures that's timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
• Sets up sterile field and is scrubbed prior to patient entering the room.
• Sets up case so that another can step into an organized back table and mayo.
• Collaborates with surgeon prior to case and adjusts as necessary.
• Precepts surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon specific procedures.
• Performs in first scrub, first assist and second scrub roles.
• Performs case closing activities such as dressing application, transfer and turnover.
