Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to assist surgeons during operative procedures, prepare sterile fields, and train junior staff. You will scrub in, run mayo, and adapt to surgeon preferences across various specialties while maintaining patient safety and efficient case turnover.

The role requires BLS certification, an Associate’s or higher in Surgical Technology, and the ability to mentor others. On-call expectations and fast-paced environment are part of the job.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Certificate of Completion: Surgical Technology.
• Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before the patient enters the room.
• Assist in case organization and back-table setup for next helper.
• Provide necessary items and resources efficiently during procedures.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs; scrub and assist across cases.
