Job summary

Harris Regional Medical Center in Sylva, NC is seeking a noncertified Surgical Technologist to support Labor and Delivery. You will scrub on cases, set up procedures and assist the RN to ensure patient safety and smooth operating room flow across multiple OR suites.

This full-time night position requires a high school diploma, certification as a Surgical Technician and/or graduation from an approved OR technician program, and AHA BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technician and/or graduation from an approved OR Technician program, required.

Responsibilities

• Set up surgical procedures, scrub on cases and facilitate the flow of surgical patients.
• Work under the guidance of the Registered Nurse and share responsibility for patient care and safety.
• Ensure effective communication between you, the circulating nurse, patient, staff, physician and hospital departments.
