Job summary

Harris Regional Medical Center in Sylva, NC is seeking a Surgical Technologist (noncertified) to join the Labor and Delivery team on a full-time night shift. The role involves setting up procedures, scrubbing on cases, and supporting safe patient care in a fast-paced OR environment.

You will work under the RN, coordinate with circulating nurses and staff, and help maintain smooth operation of surgeries with emphasis on patient safety and effective communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as Surgical Technician and/or graduation from an approved OR Technician program required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to think critically, make decisive judgments and work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up surgical procedures and scrub on cases.
• Facilitate flow of surgical patients and perform assigned tasks.
• Communicate effectively with circulating nurse, patient, staff, physician and hospital departments.
• Work under the guidance of the Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety.
