Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and support unit operations. The role combines clinical tasks with administrative duties to ensure smooth, patient-centered care at our Oneonta facility.

Ideal candidates will have HS diploma or GED, with 1 year of relevant experience or CNA/EMT credentials, and BLS certification within six months of hire. This is a on-site role with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School or GED, preferred.
• 1 year of direct patient care in acute care hospital, long term care, rehab facility, licensed home care agency, or RN school with clinicals, OR CNA, OR EMT Certification with limited experience, OR Nursing Unit Clerk.
• BLS Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care under RN/LPN supervision, including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and comfort.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Answer unit phones and liaison between patients, families, staff, and departments.
• Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers in the EMR system.
• Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and logs.
• Order and restock supplies; maintain unit cleanliness and readiness.
• Support coordination of tests, procedures, and patient transport.
• Safety Attendant at bedside for suicide precautions.
• Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service.
• Other duties as assigned
