Job summary

Froedtert Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will support the surgical team, prepare sterile fields and assist during procedures, ensuring patient safety and goals are met.

Recent graduates from an accredited Surgical Technologist program are welcome; completion of the program and BLS are required within stated timelines. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position with a rotating call roster.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the surgical team to provide patient care during procedures.
• Assist with setup, sterile technique, and instrument handling.
• Help ensure patient goals are met and hospital mission is carried out.

Schedule:

0600-1430 Monday-Friday. Call on a rotation basis. Call starts at shift end and goes until 0600 the next business day. Holidays: Call on a rotation basis Weekends: Call on a rotation basis

Job Summary:

As a member of the healthcare team, collaborates with the surgical team to provide care for patient insuring that the goals of the patients are met and the mission of the hospital is carried out. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

The Surgical Technologist is a recent graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist (ST) program or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program. Has less than one year of experience as an ST.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
