Job summary

Froedtert Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. The role supports patient care in collaboration with the surgical team and contributes to achieving the hospital's mission. Recent ST program graduates are welcome and will receive orientation and mentorship.

Shifts are 10 hours (6:30AM - 5:00PM) with occasional rotation to cover PTO; includes weeknights, weekends and holiday on-call. A 30-day rotation on PM shift is included during orientation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; post high school education, certification or diploma required.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist program or Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.
• AHA BLS within 90 days of hire.

• Collaborate with the surgical team to provide patient care aligned with goals and hospital mission.
• Assist in the operating room as part of a skilled team during procedures.

Schedule:

10 hour shifts (6:30AM - 5:00PM), with occasional rotation to early PM shift to cover colleagues' PTO (advance notification provided). Responsible for weeknight, weekend and holiday on-call rotation. Orientation will include 30 day rotation on PM shift.

Job Summary:

As a member of the healthcare team, collaborates with the surgical team to provide care for patient insuring that the goals of the patients are met and the mission of the hospital is carried out. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

The Surgical Technologist is a recent graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist (ST) program or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program. Has less than one year of experience as an ST.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
