Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in an acute care setting required.
• CST, CSFA or CSA certification required; BCLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a scrub person during surgical procedures, preparing sterile supplies and instruments.
• Perform first assistant duties including exposure, instrument handling, suctioning, and sponging as directed by the surgeon.
• Handle and dissect tissues, clamp vessels, coagulate bleeding, and place drains per surgeon instruction.
• Assist with wound closure, suturing, stapling, and dressing of surgical sites.
• Maintain sterility and safety standards, conduct counting procedures, and follow infection control protocols.
