Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in an acute care setting.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist required; CSFA or CSA certification also accepted.

Responsibilities

• Act as scrub person during procedures and maintain organized sterile supplies and instruments.
• Provide exposure and handle instruments, retractors, suction, and sponging as directed by the surgeon.
• Dissect tissues, clamp vessels, control bleeding, and place drains per instruction.
• Assist with wound closure, suturing, staples, and dressing of surgical sites.
• Maintain sterility and safety, perform counts with RN and follow infection control protocols.
• Prepare and transport instruments for decontamination and sterilization for reuse.
• Assist in post-procedure room turnover and prepare areas for next surgeries.
• Perform other duties as assigned; maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
