Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a Surgical Technician First Assist to support surgeons during procedures, maintain sterile fields, and provide instruments and supplies as needed.

The role involves positioning, tissue handling, suturing assistance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of acute care experience, CST/CSFA/CSA certifications, BCLS, and preferably ACLS.

Formación

• 1–3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in an acute care setting.
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterile field maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, instrumentation and workflows.
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond quickly during procedures.
• Attention to detail in surgical counts, positioning and safety.

Responsabilidades

• Functions as a scrub person during procedures, maintaining sterility and providing instruments.
• Performs first assistant duties: exposure, retractors, suction, and sponging as directed.
• Handles and dissects tissues, clamps vessels, coagulates bleeding, places drains per surgeon
• Assists with wound closure and dressing as instructed.
• Maintains sterility and safety, conducts counting procedures with the RN circulator
• Prepares and transports instruments for decontamination and sterilization
• Assists in post-procedure room turnover and prepares areas for next surgeries
• Complies with all policies and standards
