Job summary

CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center is seeking a temporary student Surgical Tech to assist the operative team as the scrub person, supporting the perioperative workflow and maintaining a sterile field. You will collaborate with the circulating RN and surgeons, handling instruments and supplies during procedures.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a Surgical Tech program, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and will obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Surgical Tech program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs the scrub role during selectively assigned surgical procedures in the OR.
• Utilizes quality aseptic technique when working in an unsterile or sterile role in the OR.
• Assists the circulating RN in maintaining a sterile field.
• Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts with the circulating RN.
• Gowns and gloving assistance for surgeons; positions equipment and instruments.
• Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Assists with transportation and positioning of OR patients.
