Job summary

Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist operating room staff in preparing for each surgical case and to help position and prep patients while maintaining aseptic technique. The role includes passing instruments, retracting, sponging or suctioning the operative field, and assisting with suturing under the surgeon's direction.

Candidates should have NBSTSA CST certification or NCCT TS-C, and a high school diploma or better.

Qualifications

• Must have active NBSTSA CST certification or NCCT TS-C certification (or equivalent).
• High School or better required; associates or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical cases with OR staff and maintain sterile technique.
• Position and prep patient and drape to establish sterile field; assist with tourniquet when needed.
• Pass instruments, hold retractors, sponge or suction the operative site as directed.
• Assist with suturing, apply post-operative dressings, and assist with DME items per surgeon.
• Participate in surgical site and patient verification during time-out procedures.
