Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center seeks an OR Tech I to join the Operating Room team in Jersey City. The role supports the surgeon and RN, delivering patient care before, during, and after surgery. Flexible, detail-oriented candidates with strong scrubbing skills across multiple service lines are desired.

Qualified individuals will have a surgical technician program completion, NBSTSA and BLS certifications, and 2–3 years of experience. Shift is 7:00 am to 3:00 pm with alternating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in the field.
• Scrub knowledge across service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to make calls, be flexible, multitask, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for designated surgical service lines under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care before, during, and after surgery.
