Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA is seeking an OR Assistant to support the surgical team under the guidance of the RN/LPN. You will position patients, assist with prep, transport specimens, and help keep the OR clean and stocked.

This full-time role requires strong English communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to perform basic math. You will contribute to efficient unit operations and patient care in line with CDC/OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to assist in providing patient care.
• Good organizational skills, personal maturity, accuracy and flexibility.
• Command of verbal and written English
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability, creating a favorable image in relationship to the Nursing Department and the hospital as a whole
• Ability to perform simple math calculations
• Must develop and maintain positive relationships across all areas of responsibility
• Must visibly demonstrate commitment to customer relations and all basic concepts of continuous quality improvement and preventing error from reaching the patient

Responsibilities

• Position patient for surgery with guidance from circulating RN or surgeon.
• Hold patient for surgical prep.
• Transport specimens.
• Clean OR procedure rooms and equipment.
• Transport, restock and obtain patient care supplies.
• Respond to patient and family needs in a timely manner.
• Support efficient operation of the unit while following policies and guidelines.
