Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Perioperative Services Assistant to support surgical teams under the guidance of registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists. You will help with room turnover, restocking OR and anesthesia supplies, and assisting with anesthesia access lines and equipment.

This role also involves lifting and positioning patients, assembling and troubleshooting equipment, gathering supplies for cases, and serving as a runner during procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within three months of hire.
• Medical Technician registration within three months; Pharmacy Tech registration upon hire at Concord Hospital - Laconia.

Responsibilities

• Cleans the surgical suite and equipment to ensure a functional environment daily.
• Restocks the OR before, during, and after procedures with required supplies and equipment.
• Supports OR clinical practice in various settings for the surgical team.
• Prioritizes and adjusts work to the daily schedule and needs of the team.
• Prepares for and assists with insertion of multiple patient access lines for anesthesia.
• Supports nursing and anesthesia teams in care of cardiac patients.
• Performs daily QA testing on OR equipment.
• Ensures adherence to infection control, safety, and risk management policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned; acts as a preceptor for new assistants.
