Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners in Stamford, CT is seeking an OR Assistant (ORA) to support the operating room team with daily surgical procedures. You will help prepare the room, assist with patient positioning, transfer patients, and maintain clean rooms between cases.

You will also manage linen and scrub attire, and aid the Materials Manager with inventory control. This full-time role demands attention to detail, the ability to stand for long periods, and willingness to wear PPE as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency and understanding of basic medical terminology.
• BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room at the beginning of the day by sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
• Assist the surgical team in positioning patients.
• Sweep and mop floors between procedures and between surgeries.
• Transfer patients from the operating room bed to recovery stretchers and prepare the room for the next procedure.
• Manage linen and scrub attire.
• Assist Materials Manager with inventory receiving and controls.
• May assist clinical staff in selecting cases for future procedures.
