Job summary

St. David’s Georgetown Hospital is seeking a Surgical Services Nursing Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the Main OR and scheduling.

The role requires planning staffing, coordinating with OR personnel, anesthesiologists and surgeons, and maintaining a safe environment. The ideal candidate holds an RN license with an Associate Degree, ACLS within 90 days, and 2+ years of specialized nursing experience, with supervisory/scheduling experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Basic Life Support (RN) required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
• Associate Degree required.
• Minimum of two years specialized nursing experience applicable to OR/nursing unit.
• Previous supervisory and surgery scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and control staffing assignments to insure effective coverage of the department.
• Plan and direct staff activities.
• Participate in unit activities/operations.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Develop a professional climate within the nursing unit.
