Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1-2 years operating room Cardiovascular (CVOR) experience required.
• 3-4 years progressive management experience preferred.
• RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required.
• CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers required.
• CNOR - Certified Operating Room Nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages the day-to-day operations of running the OR schedule and the weekday Control Desk staff as well as evening, night, and weekend Supervisors.
• Collaborates with the Anesthesiology Medical Director and Anesthesiologist in charge to ensure schedule efficiency.
• Develops scheduling policies and procedures; adheres to case start times and length; coordinates with other departments for optimal patient care.
• Monitors personnel allocation and utilization based on patient needs, identifying savings opportunities.
• Manages expenditures within budgets and works with OR Business Manager and Scheduling Supervisors to proactively manage the OR schedule.
• Monitors quality of service and patient care, and participates in hospital committees as requested.
