Job summary

St. David's Georgetown Hospital, part of St. David's HealthCare, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide safe, high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced environment.

You will assess patients, educate families, and work within a dynamic surgical team to optimize patient outcomes. ACLS and BCLS are required within specified timeframes; an RN license and Diploma are mandatory, with at least one year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN is required with a Registered Nurse license.
• Registered Nurse Diploma is required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practice."
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, and staff.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes and care provided.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition and follow-up measures.
