Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support for patient care units. Responsibilities include monitoring supplies, answering call lights, and assisting with EHR orders while collaborating with the care team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and EPIC/EHR familiarity. Flexibility for rotating shifts including evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills required.
• Successful completion of HUC post-secondary program, or HUC Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Working knowledge with EHR systems, EPIC preferred.
• Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Adapts effectively to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
• Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the health care team.
• Monitors and orders supplies; answers patient call lights; assists care team with orders in EHR.
• Communicates with patients, visitors and staff; supports continuity of care.
• Fulfills duties with good judgment, problem-solving, and self-development.
• Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.
