Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to provide organizational, receptionist and clerical support on patient care units. You will assist with supplies, call bells, and coordinating with nursing staff in the EHR system.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary HUC training or certification is preferred, with experience in a medical setting and EPIC/EHR familiarity valued. Hours include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HUC post-secondary program or certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Working knowledge with EHR systems, EPIC preferred.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units.
• Monitor and order supplies; promptly answer patient call lights and escalate as needed.
• Assist care team with managing orders in the EHR system.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff across care continuum.
