Mayo Clinic is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to provide essential organizational, receptionist, and clerical support across patient care units. You will monitor supplies, respond to patient calls, and assist with EHR orders, collaborating with the care team.

The role requires strong customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills; a high school diploma is required, and HUC certification or post-secondary training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of HUC post-secondary program, or HUC Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Working knowledge with EHR systems, EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the health care team.
• Monitors and orders supplies; answers patient call lights; assists care team with managing orders in the EHR.
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff; supports communication across the continuum of care.
• Carries out duties with good judgment, problem-solving, and self-development; participates in continuous improvement activities.
